In keeping with my blog promise to learn more about me in the New Year.....I would like to introduce you to "my previous self". Hello, my name is  Collette Osuna, a published scrapbooker.

After my son Alex passed away in 2000, I turned to scrapbooking as a form of creative release and healing. At that time, I could have never imagined the amazing opportunities that would be headed my way.

I realize this photo is not the best quality but I am excited to share that I have resurrected the original Periscope video from this past summer when we had our Real Talk About Instagram!

Let's face it, if you live in a cold weather area, you already know that winter weather can be cruel to your skin. I live in Michigan, and right around the month of November, I can literally feel the moisture escaping my skin the minute I walk out the front door. That cold wind is whipping at my face and hands.....and it's no joke!

When I was a bit younger, grocery shopping really didn't seem to bother me all that much. C'Mon, let's face it.....it's a form of shopping.

It seems the older I get, the less time I have to dedicate to roaming up and down grocery store aisles reading every label and comparing prices. Who has time to look through each and every circular hunting down the weeks best bargains? I definitely have adopted the "get in and get er done" attitude.

Happy "almost" weekend!

After posting this photo on Instagram today, I realized that besides clearly being addicted to the color green, I am pretty much a creature of habit.........are you?

You know the type......you find yourself doing the same things over and over again, but do you stop and think why? I took a little bit of time today to ponder this notion and came to the conclusion that I repeat things over and over again because:  A) I like it..... B) it's easy.... C) it just works.

Baskets are definitely "my jam" and I use them in practically every room in my home. Why not use a large basket as a clothes hamper in your kids room? Display one on your fireplace hearth to keep blankets off the floor? or smaller options in your bathroom or on top of your kitchen sink as "catch alls"?

Easy Banana Muffins

One of my favorite things to do in the cold winter months is to fill my home with the sweet smells of hearty baked goods!

What I don't like to do is throw away perfectly good food, and for some reason, bananas always seem to be at the top of the "throw away" list.

2016: The Year of Simple

Reflecting on 2015, I have come to the conclusion that my new word for the New Year is : Simple.
Simple life, simple fun, simple home decor.
