Thrifted & Re-Lifted Challenge!

Everyone has a set of these black flower pots don't we? Although Michigan isn't quite warm enough for flower planting, I recently spotted these planters at Salvation Army for a whopping $2.50 each. I looked past their boring drab black color knowing I could give these babies a makeover and call them "my own".

I washed and rinsed both planters and started painting away with my favorite paint color "Swiss Coffee". I painted two coats on each planter and waited for them to fully dry before breaking out the black Sharpie to draw on my sweet flowers:)

After drawing the flowers onto each planter box, I used blue craft paint to fill in each petal and finished off with a dot of white paint in the center of each flower.

Believe it or not, these chives lasted all Winter long out on my deck! I totally forgot that I left them outside and was so happy to see them alive once all the snow melted!

I knew they would be a perfect addition to my new white painted flower boxes.

I couldn't be happier with how my planter boxes turned out. What a great transformation for less than $7.00!
