There's
something sentimental about the last couple months of the year. Yes, they are
hurried with holiday shopping, menu planning and setting out holiday decor, but
they are also a time to reflect on your family and friends and special memories
you have made throughout the years.
I'm a
candle lover by nature and always look forward to filling each room in my home
with the new scents of the season. I love how each scent in the Glade®Limited Edition Winter Collection instantly reminds me of
Christmas, hanging ornaments on the tree and spreading sentiments of peace and
love.
Now that the holidays are upon us, I'm always looking for
new inspiration for easy do it yourself projects that I can incorporate into my
home decor. I love adding my personal touch and making the project
"mine".
It's funny
how that little thing called inspiration works. You never can tell where your
next great idea is going to come from. As soon as I smelled the new Glade®
Limited Edition Winter Collection scents, I knew they
were the perfect inspiration for my rustic DIY holiday place setting.
What I
didn't know is that I would be plummeted with huge snowflakes during the first
major Michigan snowfall of the year when I headed to Kroger! I'm used to
unpredictable Michigan weather and thankfully I can cartwheel to my local store
if I had too. How fun is this aisle display? I'm a sucker for a special Holiday
display or an end cap sale. I picked up both the BE AT PEACE™ and CHERISH THE
PRESENT™ scents.
BE AT PEACE™
reminds me of a fresh cut pine tree and CHERISH THE PRESENT™ is the perfect
holiday mix of apple and cinnamon. I always have a "jump off point"
for my DIY projects so I played off these scents. I gathered up holiday
inspired picks from my local craft store along with cinnamon sticks, twine and
kraft colored napkins.
I love how
creative you can get with faux floral pieces. Gone are the days of fake looking
silk picks. The options we have today are much better than those from years
past and these gorgeous pieces look very authentic. The branches and acorn even
have flocking!
I placed
the holiday picks on top of the napkin, added a few cinnamon sticks and wrapped
with twine several times. I completed the look with a tied bow in the front.
Holiday
elegance doesn't have to be complicated. I lean toward simplicity and these
rustic napkin place settings definitely follow suit.
Take a peek
at other fun and creative ways to incorporate the Glade® Limited Edition
Winter Collection™
into your home this holiday season!
